Day of AI Partners with Yarn!

December 20, 2024

Yarn is a digital playspace that lets kids come together with friends and family to make up stories. Yarn uses AI in a safe and nourishing way to nurture children’s creative self-expression – offering a foundation for communication, social-emotional learning, and literacy.

You can use yarn to give students as young as four years old the satisfaction of seeing their ideas brought to life. Yarn’s early years curriculum was developed to help children understand what creativity is and how they might use AI to augment their own creative process.
In addition to the curriculum, you might also take inspiration from:
  • Studio 5, a Fabrication Lab under Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, used yarn to co-create storybooks on climate justice;
  • Yarn’s Beatrix Potter experience, where children can experience the original Tales and create their own story featuring Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-duck or Jeremy Fisher.
Yarn is free to use, and the team is always eager to hear from educators with feedback, questions, or ideas for collaborations or improvements. Please contact yarn’s CEO, Fed, at fed@yarn.family – he’d love to chat about all things kids, creativity, and AI!
