Day of AI Bulgaria began as a grassroots initiative led by Mihaela Mihaylova, Rui Pereira, and Kosara Mihaylova, in partnership with New Bulgaria University, to equip students across the country with meaningful artificial intelligence literacy. The program focuses on practical education for the real world, offering classroom-ready materials that are clear, relevant, and designed to encourage students to ask questions, experiment, and create their own AI projects. 

At its core, the initiative places people at the center of technology, guiding students to think critically about the societal implications of AI, including fairness, privacy, and its impact on others. Day of AI Bulgaria also advocates for equal access to AI education, ensuring that every child and teacher can benefit from free, age-appropriate, and easy-to-use learning resources. We believe that responsible and sustainable AI literacy begins with understanding—helping students learn how artificial intelligence works, recognize its capabilities and limitations, and appreciate its growing influence on decision-making in society.
